Everything you need to know about our new Strength and Sweat category!
Get your sweat towels and water bottles ready, our new Sweat and Strength category is almost here! We are turning up the heat and Han is here to give you the lowdown on what to expect from this brand new selection of classes.
What is Strength and Sweat?
Strength and Sweat is our newest category, created for our members who want to push themselves and work harder in their classes. Using faster paced sequences and higher intensity moves, the focus is on working your muscles and getting your heart rate going. The combination of muscle-toning Pilates moves and cardio-style bursts gives you a different kind of workout to our usual classes. These classes are perfect for sweating it out, feeling the burn and getting those endorphins flowing.
Who is it for?
This category is for anyone who wants to challenge themselves in a different way and feel like they’ve had a good workout. We recommend having some Pilates experience before trying these classes as they move more quickly and there is less time spent on set up and technique. If you enjoy the benefits of Pilates but find yourself wanting a little more intensity from your classes, this category is for you.
Why did we create a new category?
Some days you may want to work on your technique and form, and other days you may just want to get sweaty. We believe in challenging your body in different ways to achieve the best results and believe that the addition of Strength and Sweat really rounds out our class offering. Our goal is always to enhance the experience of our members and to motivate you to feel your best by moving your body regularly. By creating this new category, we aim to provide you with even more reasons to roll out your mat and enjoy the many wonderful and life changing benefits of Pilates.
What equipment do I need?
These classes use a mix of dumbbells and resistance bands. We recommend dumbbells between 2-4kg, but everyone is different so choose a weight that feels right for you. Our instructors will provide the weight they suggest working with, but these classes will work well with whatever you have at home. If you don’t have weights, you can even use tins of food or filled water bottles instead. Most of our classes use a light-medium fabric resistance band. You can purchase a set of 3 Our Pilates resistance bands online, or use one you already have at home.
How long are the classes?
Classes range from 15 minute ‘mini’s’ to full 30 minute classes so there is something you can fit in whether you are short on time or after a full class experience.
When will I be able to access these new classes?
The new category will be live on October 28th - so pop the date in your calendar and get ready to work! We will be releasing 20 brand new classes all at once and celebrating the launch with a 7 day challenge on November 11th - details to come.
